Tech Tip – Use An Image To Help With A Google Search

Google’s Image Search not only allows you to search for images by name, but allows you upload an image (or paste in the URL) and do a reserve search to identify what a product is and where it can be found on the Web.

Think how handy this could be when looking for Christmas presents.

Here is how to do it:

• Open your web browser
• Go to Google
• At the top right hand corner, click on "Images"
• On the right hand side of the search box, click on the camera icon
• The "Search any image with Google Lens" window opens
• Upload the image or just drag and drop it into the search box
• Google then tries to match the image by displaying the exact image or a close approximation to it
• Click on any of the results images to visit the website the image was found on
• It is also possible to narrow down the results using keywords to get a more accurate result
