It's the last chance saloon - this is a call to action if you still have Windows 10

This is the last chance saloon, and it is a call to action if you are running Windows 10.

Time is running out...

When the clock hits zero, any computer running Windows 10 will be open to exploitation, leaving people running Windows 10 with one of three choices:

  1. Run on Windows 10 and risk having your computers compromised, not the best plan when you think how many incidents of high profile cyber attacks there have been lately.  This could become a very expensive option if there is a need to pay to sort out a hack or pay for ransomware to unlock data, then there is the additional fallout of reputational damage and lost business.
  2. Have deep pockets and pay Microsoft for extended security updates for Windows 10, another expensive option which is just kicking the can down the road, Microsoft will only provide this expensive service for a finite time so you will need to move to Windows 11 eventually.
  3. Upgrade your computers to Windows 11

This really is the last chance to act before October 14th  2025, but don't it leave it until the last minute either, there could be unforeseen challenges such as users having to adapt to a new operating system or software not working as expected or printers no longer working with the new version of Windows due to them no longer being support.

Here is a scary statistic

In the past 12 months, four in ten businesses (43%) and three in ten charities (30%) reported having experienced any kind of cyber security breach or attack.  These were the ones they identified, but the reality is a lot more have happened and either gone unnoticed or have not been reported, even though this is now a legal requirement to do so!

This is why we are urging everyone still running Windows 10, do something before it is too late and your organisation or business becomes another statistic on the Governments cyber attack website.

Aside from the risk, why else should you upgrade

Organisations that either have or want to attain the Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus accreditations need to be running on supported operating systems so if you are running Windows 10, your accreditation will no longer be valid which could hamper contractual requirements, especially when regards to government opportunities or grants.

What should you do?

The simple answer is upgrade.  We are more than happy to try to accommodate upgrades but we can't do everyone the day before the clock runs out.  If you would like more advice or would like to find out how much it would cost to get Windows 11, call us on 01722 411 999 for a no obligation quote.

Please note: our engineer work calendar is booking up fast with people who want to ensure their business or organisation is protected so don't leave it and find you can't be fit in before the deadline.

Remember, it is always far cheaper to protect your business from a cyber attack than it is to recover from one.

The statistics show there is almost no chance of a small business surviving let alone recovering from a cyber attack, why take the chance?
