Tech Tip – How To Create Shortcuts for Important WhatsApp Chats on an Android Device

Do you have an important chat you need to access regularaly?  Or a chat you would like to access easily beucass it is important to you, such as with a family member?  

Here is how to create a shortcut in WhatsApp in Android:

• Open WhatsApp on your phone
• Go to your chats and find the one you want to create a shortcut to
• Press and hold on the chat you want to pin and wait until the menu opens 
• Select the three dots (More) menu at the top right
• Select "Add chat shortcut"
• Select "Add"
• This will then create a shortcut to the chat on your device home screen so you can access it without having to navigate through lots of different chats in WhatsApp
