Tech Tip – How To Send Web Pages To Your Inbox Using Google Chrome

Would you like a quick and easy way to email web pages you find interesting to your inbox rather than bookmarking them in Google Chrome?

If you would like this then maybe the InboxThis extension may be helpful to you.

Here is how to do it:

  • Open Google Chrome
  • Go to the Google Chrome Web Store (you can get there by Googling the term or by clicking here)
  • In the "Search the store" search box, type InboxThis and press enter
  • When the search results come back, click on the Inbox This extension (top result in the list)
  • Click the "Add to Chrome" button
  • Confirm you want to add this extension to Chrome by click on the "Add Extension" button
  • This will then add the feature to your Chrome browser
  • Next you will need to add the email address you want all the saved links to be sent to, type in your email address and click on "Save"

To test that the extension is working do the following:

  • Open Google Chrome
  • Browse to a website of your choice
  • Click on the Extensions icon (it looks like a jigsaw puzzle piece to the right of the address bar) and from the drop down list select "Email and read it later - Inbox"
  • You should then see a pop up saying "Page sent to your inbox"
  • You should also get an email with the link after a few seconds

If you need to change the email address in the tool do the following:

  • Open Google Chrome
  • Click on the Extensions icon (it looks like a jigsaw puzzle piece to the right of the address bar) and from the drop down list select, click on the three vertical dots to the right of  "Email and read it later - Inbox" and select Options from the menu list
  • Change the email address destination and click on "Save"

NOTE: Microsoft Edge is built using Google Chrome, so the above extension also works in MS Edge and adding it and using it in Edge are exactly the same as with Google Chrome, have a go!
