Tech Tip – How To Use Google Chrome's Link To Highlighted Text Feature

What do you do if you have found a specific passage of text on the web and you would like to share that specific text with someone else?  Google Chrome now has a built-in function that allows you to share a link with someone else that links directly to that text.

Here’s how to use it:

  • Open your Google Chrome web browser
  • Browse to the web page with the text you would like to share
  • On that page, highlight the text you would like to share
  • Right click on the highlighted text
  • Select "Copy link to highlight" from the menu
  • Share the link it has created

For example, this is a link to the Office 365 page on our website, linking to the first sentence on the page:

https://www.thesilvercloudbusiness.com/office-365-microsoft-365#:~:text=As%20you%20may%20be%20aware%20Microsoft%20has%20rebranded%20Office%20365%20and%20it%20is%20now%20known%20as%20Microsoft%20365.
