Tech tip - revert to previous version of a document

If you are working on a file either collaboratively or on your own you can revert to go back through iterations by accessing previous file versions.

Office 365 automatically saves previous file versions, which you can access through OneDrive or SharePoint. To access previous file versions, click

  • File
  • Info and select View.
  • A tab opens and you to see all previous versions of the document, compare content, and restore prior changes if need be.

If you are using PowerPoint, the admin can compare a single slide’s editing history and the changes made by each author (if it was created collaboratively) to approve contributions made by each team member.

This ability to restore file versions by slide can maximise effort and allow roll back to previous versions of the slide.
